When using the Windows Seven Home Basic (Premium) operating system, it is possible to quickly upgrade to a new version. For this, several different methods are used, each of which has its own nuances.
Necessary
- - Windows Anytime Upgrade;
- - boot disk Windows 7 Ultimate.
Instructions
Step 1
The easiest and fastest method to update the operating system version is to manually install the new OS. Prepare a boot disk for Windows Seven Professional or Ultimate. To do this, burn the downloaded image to a DVD drive using the ISO File Burning program.
Step 2
Without restarting your computer, insert the disc into the drive and start it. In the first dialog box, click the Install button. Wait for the next window to start. Select "Update".
Step 3
Wait for a while while the program scans your hard drive and provides a list of existing operating systems. Select the active OS and click the "Continue" button.
Step 4
The program will automatically update the operating system files. During this process, the computer will restart several times. During a certain step, you will be required to enter your product key (Windows). Check for new features after completing the system update.
Step 5
It is also possible to upgrade the operating system using the Windows Anytime Upgrade program. Download it from the official Mircosoft website by purchasing an update package for the required version.
Step 6
Run the downloaded program. Please be aware that the application does not imply a 32-bit to 64-bit upgrade. To upgrade the OS to the Professional version, select the desired item and follow the step-by-step menu.
Step 7
Wait until the required procedures are completed and then run Windows Anytime Upgrade again. Because you are currently using the Professional version, proceed to upgrade to Ultimate.
Step 8
Select the appropriate item and start the process of changing the system parameters again. Remember that you will need to enter a license key every time you switch to a new version of the product.
