The image format is altered using special programs that support both extensions. Converters and special image editors are commonly used.

Internet connection for downloading programs
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install on your computer a graphics editor that works with the given image format, as well as supports conversion to the desired format. It is best to download Adobe Photoshop or its analogues right away. If during installation the program will ask you to install support for rare image formats, check all the boxes. You may need this in the future.
Step 2
Open the folder with the image, the format of which you want to remake, then right-click on it and in the context menu select "Open with" and in the window that appears, click on the shortcut of the program you have recently installed. If necessary, associate the files of this type with the application by ticking the box next to "Use for all files of this type".
Step 3
After opening the image in a graphics editor, take the necessary steps to change the picture, when it takes the final form, perform the flattening and click the very first item "File" in the main menu on top, then select "Save as …" in the drop-down list.
Step 4
Don't confuse this with normal save, as it simply applies the changes you made to the original. Enter the name of the file in the dialog box that appears, and then select the desired extension for the image in the drop-down menu from the bottom. After that, specify the directory where you want to save.
Step 5
In cases where you need to change the image format from the standard.jpg,.png, and so on, use the standard Paint utility, which is launched from the Start menu. After opening the image, click on saving it as the format you need (select the appropriate one in the drop-down menu), enter its name, or simply apply the changes if you no longer need the original.
