If the operating system boot window has ceased to please you, or even never pleased you at all, it makes sense to change it. You don't need any third-party software to do this, just dig deeper into the registry settings.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a picture to install on the welcome screen. To change the greeting, you need a picture with *.
Step 2
Click start, type "regedit" in the search box and press Enter on your keyboard. The Registry Editor will start. Open the following directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE> Microsoft> Windows> CurrentVersion> Authentication> LogonUI> Background. This section contains parameters that customize the welcome screen.
Step 3
On the right side of the registry window is the contents of the Background folder. If the OEMBackground parameter is missing, create it: right-click in an empty space on the right side of the window, click New, and then DWORD Parameter (32-bit). Name the newly created parameter OEMBackground, expand it, and then set the value to "1".
Step 4
Rename the image you want to replace the old image with backgroundDefault.jpg. To do this, right-click on it, select "Rename" in the menu that appears, enter the text and press Enter on the keyboard. Copy it to section C: WindowsSystem32oobeinfoackgrounds (in your case, the operating system may be installed on a different logical drive). If there are no directories named info and backgrounds, create them.
