Getting used to certain screen settings, the user feels uncomfortable if suddenly some parameters go astray. You may need to work with different elements to return the display to its previous appearance.
Instructions
Step 1
The main parameters are set through the "Display" component. Right-click on any free space on the desktop and select the last item - "Properties" from the context menu. The component dialog box opens. Alternative way: Click the Start button or the Windows key, select Control Panel from the menu. In the Appearance and Themes category, click the Display icon.
Step 2
In the dialog box that opens, go to the "Options" tab. To adjust the resolution you want, drag the slider to the right or left in the Screen Resolution group. In the group "Color quality" select the desired value using the drop-down list. To open the window for other settings, click on the "Advanced" button.
Step 3
Pay attention to the "Monitor" tab and the "Monitor settings" group. If you have a lamp monitor installed, use the drop-down list to set a value for the screen refresh rate, having previously marked the "Hide modes that the monitor cannot use" box with a marker. Apply the settings.
Step 4
The boundaries of the work area are set through the control panel on the monitor itself. Using the buttons on the body, enter the menu, adjust the height and width of the image on the screen. You can also adjust the color gamut, brightness and contrast. When finished, click on the Degauss button or select this command from the monitor menu.
Step 5
You can also use the control panel of your video card for settings. Open it by clicking on the corresponding icon in the notification area on the taskbar, or in any other way (via the "Display" component or from the subfolder with the name of the video card in the Program Files folder).
Step 6
On the control panel of the video card, the basic parameters are available for adjustment: resolution, adjustment of the size and position of the desktop, color saturation, brightness, contrast. Also here you can set the mode in which the display is rotated 90 or 180 degrees. Move through the sections choosing the options you need to edit. After finishing the configuration, save the changes with the OK or Apply button.
