The operating system Windows 8.1 is installed on modern laptops. Undoubtedly, the new "tiled" interface is convenient when used in conjunction with touch screens. But to launch, for example, the Mail application on a laptop with a regular screen, you need to press the Win key, and then select the desired tile with the mouse or touchpad. There is an easier way!
Instructions
Step 1
Press the Win key to open the Windows 8.1 Start screen. Right-click on the tile for the desired application. Select the "Pin to taskbar" option.
Step 2
Press the Win key again to enter Desktop Mode. The Windows Mail icon should appear in the taskbar. Remember the number of the application icon in the taskbar. For the example shown in the figure, this is number 4. However, you can move the application to any place on the Taskbar by simply dragging it with the mouse.
Step 3
Now, being in any mode of operation - Desktop or Home screen, you can always call Mail by pressing the Win + 4 keys.
