A fragment is a continuous piece of text. Sometimes it is necessary to move a phrase or a couple of sentences to another paragraph. Sometimes you need to move several paragraphs or even an entire paragraph. In both cases, moving the text is not difficult, you just need to know the basic rules for using a text editor.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the text First of all, you need to select a fragment with the mouse - clicking on the left mouse button and holding it until the desired part of the text ends. For example, in the widely used Word editor, two types of fragment are possible: inline (consisting of several lines following one after the other and originating from the beginning of the line) and linear (including a sequence of several lines that can begin and end anywhere lines).
Step 2
Drag the text if you need to move a small amount The first way to move a piece of text is "drag and drop." Having selected the text and hovering over the fragment, press the left mouse button. A dotted cursor appears on the screen. While holding the button, move it to the place in the text where you want to insert the fragment, and release it.
Step 3
Copy the text if the volume is large or the required space is on other pages Copy the selected text by right-clicking and selecting the required command, or use the same command by selecting the required button on the control panel. Place the cursor on the desired place in the text and select the "paste" command. A similar operation is possible using the "hot" keys ctrl c (copy) and ctrl v (paste). Delete the original piece of text by selecting it and pressing the delete (del) key.
Step 4
Use the cut command You can move text by cutting and pasting it where you want it. In this case, you do not have to search for it again, select it and delete it. To do this, select the text and select the "cut" command. Use the "paste" command to move it to a new location.
Step 5
Use the same techniques when moving a piece from one document to another If you need to move a piece of text to another document, open both documents. Select a fragment and, "hooking" it with the mouse, drag it to another text in the same way as within the same document, without releasing the mouse button. When you hover over a minimized new document window, it will open automatically. Likewise, you can use the copy, cut and paste commands.
