A seemingly uncomplicated cutting operation actually includes a whole set of procedures. Some of them - placing a copy of the desired area of the image in the clipboard (copying) and clearing this area in the selected layer (deleting) - Adobe Photoshop will do it without user intervention. Step 1

Turn on one of the ways to select an area of the image - there are three buttons on the toolbar for this, each of which has a set of several options. To see the full set of options for an individual button, hover over it and hold down the left mouse button for a couple of seconds.

If you need to assign a rectangular or oval area of the picture to cutting, use the tools of the second button in this panel - "Rectangular area" or "Oval area". In addition to them, a horizontal and vertical selection of a strip with a width of one pixel is assigned to the button.

The third button includes the Lasso, Magnetic Lasso, and Straight Lasso tools. Use them to highlight an irregularly shaped area. Turning on the simple "Lasso", you will have to draw a closed selection outline with the mouse. When using the "Rectilinear Lasso", it is enough to set control points, and the program itself will connect them. The "magnetic lasso" works the same way, but after completing the process, the graphics editor will round out the selection jaggedness in the best way it thinks.

The fourth button is assigned the Magic Wand and Quick Selection tools. Turn one of them on if you want Photoshop to analyze the image in the area indicated by a left-click and, at its discretion, select an area from the same points of the picture, as it considers.
