Almost any PC user can face the problem of recording music from a disc to a computer, especially if he at least occasionally listens to music. The complexity of this task depends on whether the disc is copy-protected or not. Let's consider both options.
It is necessary
- - CD with music;
- - a computer;
- - Windows Media Player program.
Instructions
Step 1
If, opening the disc on your computer, you see MP3 music files, which pirates often indulge music lovers with, feel free to conclude that the disc is not write-protected. Then, to download music to your computer, open the music folder on the disk and select all the files or those that you need. This can be done by pressing Ctrl + C or by right-clicking - "Copy".
Step 2
Open the folder on your computer where you want to copy the music and click Ctrl + V or right-click again - "Paste". Quest complete, enjoy the music.
Step 3
If on the disk you see not music files, but only shortcuts, which are useless to copy to the hard disk, then the CD is write-protected. In this case, you can transfer music from the disc to your computer as follows: with the disc inserted, start Windows Media Player. Of course, there are a huge number of programs that can easily convert a CD format into a more familiar MP3, but it is Windows Media Player that is installed automatically on every computer along with the operating system.
Step 4
Find the "Copy from disk" button at the top of the program window. After a short check, a list of all the songs that are on the disk will appear in the window, select and tick all those that you need to download to your computer.
Step 5
In the window that opens, check the box "Do not enable music copy protection" if you plan to share it with your friends, as well as a checkmark in the box next to "I understand that …" and click the "OK" button.
Step 6
Open the "My Documents" folder from the main menu. In it you will find a folder "My Music". All the music you have selected from the disc will be copied into it, you can listen to it without a disc. Now it is saved in MP3 format and it will be much easier and more comfortable to work with it.
