Computer games help to have a pleasant and exciting time. The virtual world created by the developers is addictive and begins to seem real. Some games are thought out and worked out to such an extent that you want to come back to them again and again even after a few years. Step 1
Before purchasing a game or downloading it from the Internet, make sure that it runs on your computer. Check the requirements for the operating system, sound and video card, processor, amount of RAM and free hard disk space on which the game will be installed.
Step 2
To get information about your computer and determine if it meets the requirements stated by the developers, use the available system components. Click on the icon of the item "My Computer" on the desktop or in the "Start" menu with the right mouse button. Select Properties from the context menu.

A new dialog box will open, make the "General" tab active in it. Examine the information in the "Version" and "System" groups. This will help you determine if your processor is right and if there is enough RAM to run the game you're interested in.
Step 4
For complete information about your sound and video card, use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Click the Start button or the Windows key, select Run from the menu. In the empty field of the window that opens, enter dxdiag and press the Enter key or the OK button. Wait until the collection of information is complete.
Step 5
Click the Display tab for graphics card information and the Sound tab for sound card information. By the way, on the "System" tab in the "DirectX Diagnostic Tools" window, you can also get information about the processor and RAM. To close the component, use the "Exit" button.
Step 6
To find out if there is enough space on the local disk, open the "My Computer" item, move the cursor to the disk on which you plan to install the game, and right-click on its icon. Select Properties from the context menu. On the General tab of the dialog box that opens, estimate the amount of free space.
Step 7
As for the genre of the game, this is a matter of taste. If you like to slowly move through the storyline and think over puzzles, give preference to quests in order for the body to generate adrenaline throughout the game, choose a survival horror game, if you want dynamics and speed, get a shooter or a racing simulator. To avoid disappointment, be sure to rate the graphics and read reviews from those who have already played the game of your choice.
