Pop-up advertising on the Internet is one of the most effective ways to monetize various sites. However, in addition to income for the owner, pop-up ads bring a huge amount of inconvenience to users and increase traffic consumption. A popular tool for combating pop-up ads is the AdBlock browser extension, which is available in many Internet browsers.
Instructions
Step 1
If you want to end annoying advertising on the web once and for all, install the Google Chrome browser on your computer, which has the ability to install extensions. One of these extensions, called AdBlock, is a powerful tool for blocking ads on the Internet of any kind - from banners and simple links to complex pop-ups. You can find AdBlock in the Chrome web store, which can be accessed by clicking the appropriate link on an open empty browser tab, or by going into its settings and clicking the "Extensions" button located in the "Tools" submenu.
Step 2
In the Chrome Web Store, find the AdBlock extension page. The link to this extension, as a rule, is in the "Popular" section, since the number of its users has long exceeded 2 million. To download and install this extension, just click the "Add to Chrome" button. Wait for the file to download. After that, the extension settings button will appear in the upper right corner of the browser. In addition, the AdBlock settings will open in the browser window as a separate tab.
Step 3
In the settings of the AdBlock extension, set the options for disabling pop-up ads. If you want pop-up windows not to be blocked on a specific site, then add this address to the list of exclusions. Also, you can manage this extension directly from the toolbar by left-clicking on its icon. With AdBlock, you can block ads by URL and notify users and developers about the impossibility of blocking ads on specific pages.
