More or less experienced Minecraft players usually get bored pretty quickly with a single version of this game. They often use it only to test a new map or mod (and some do without it). For the rest, they prefer multi-user resources - for example, servers. However, what if you have a desire to fight your favorite game with several friends, but you don't want to look at the server for this?

Normal network play

The organization of a local battle in Minecraft is carried out in several ways. In any case, it will require the required number of computers or laptops - according to the number of friends who decided to participate in such an endeavor. Further, everything depends on the choice of a specific method of combining these devices into a network. If there are enough network cables available to physically connect computers, it's not a sin to use them.

First, you need to connect all computers with cables to the one that is selected as the main one. Then you will need to start Minecraft on it in the usual way. When the game opens directly, you need to exit it by pressing Esc and in the menu that opens, select the opening of gameplay over the local network. There you need to make the usual settings, which are done for the game world.

After that, you need to open up such a world for friends who will play with the owner of the host computer over the local network. This is done by the corresponding button in the menu. As a result, upon returning to the game, the IP-address of the port will appear on the screen (after "The local server is running on …"), which must be written down by all means.

Next, you need to find out the IP of the host computer. One of the simplest ways to accomplish this is by sending a request to one of the Internet search engines. IP will be registered there in the response as IPv4. It must be rewritten, and then, separated by a colon (without any spaces), indicate the previously obtained port address.

The resulting combination of numbers must be passed to friends whose computers are connected to the local network. They will have to launch Minecraft, then select the multiplayer there and enter the characters in the required line in the order that the owner of the “server” told them.

LAN device via Hamachi

However, if there is no network cable, it is also possible to arrange a local competition in Minecraft. There is special software for connecting computers to a virtual local area network. The most famous program in this regard is Hamachi, which is compatible with virtually all versions of the game and with modern computers with Windows XP and higher.

"Hamachi" is free, and you can download it from the official website of its manufacturer. You need to install it on each of the computers of the improvised local network. Then, on the one of them that is selected as the server, you need to make the following changes.

You need to open Hamachi and press the start button in it. Next, you need to click in the menu that appears on the inscription that starts the generation of a new network. After that, you will need to enter the name of the future playground, the password for it and its confirmation. This data should be communicated to all participants in the future network.

Next, the owner of the server computer launches Minecraft and, in the same way, as in the case of a physical LAN connection (via a cable), finds out the digital identifier of the port through which the game is running. However, nothing will work if you do not determine the IP address required for the gameplay.

The owners of other computers in the local network will help with this. They must go to Hamachi from their devices, select a previously created playground there, entering its name and password, and rewrite its IPv4 (it is indicated next to the start button of the program, before the / icon). After a colon, he is required to enter the previously identified game port identifier and copy the resulting combination to any text file.

Now all gamers need only run Minecraft on their computers and select direct connection to the network from the menu. As a result, a special window will open in which you will need to insert the combination of characters that was saved in the text document. All participants in the local network can only enjoy the game.
