Some users tend to unite all their computers and laptops into a single local network. Most often, this is done to configure Internet access from all of the above devices.
It is necessary
- - switch;
- - network cables.
Instructions
Step 1
In the event that you need to configure the connection of three or more computers to one Internet line, use a network hub (switch). Purchase this device and one additional network card.
Step 2
Connect the network adapter to a computer connected to the internet line. Install the driver for this hardware. Set up your internet connection using the recommendations of your ISP.
Step 3
Connect the second network card of this computer and the network adapters of other computers to the pre-installed network hub. If you are using a non-configurable switch, and this is very reasonable, because you do not need to configure the ports, then the numbers of the LAN channels do not matter.
Step 4
Open the settings of the second network card of the host computer. In the properties of the Internet Protocol TCP / IPv4, write down the permanent (static) IP address 101.101.101.1. Go to internet connection properties. Open the "Access" tab. Allow all computers on the local network to use this Internet connection. Select the local network formed by the network hub.
Step 5
Open the network adapter settings of any other computer. Navigate to TCP / IPv4 options. Enter the following values for important items of this menu: - 101.101.101.2 - IP address;
- 255.0.0.0. - Subnet mask (determined by the system);
- 101.101.101.1 - The main gateway;
- 101.101.101.1 - Preferred DNS Server Save the settings of this menu.
Step 6
Configure the settings for the network adapters of other computers in the same way as in the previous step, each time replacing the last segment of the "IP address" field. Reconnect to the Internet on the host computer. Make sure Internet access is available on all other devices.
