Saving game profiles for Resident Evil 5 takes place in several stages. Unlike other computer games, the save procedure here follows a more complex system.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to save custom game save files when reinstalling the operating system, open the folder "My Documents" and go to the directory where the data is located - CAPCOM / RESIDENT EVIL 5 /. Copy to a removable device or hard drive that you will not format during the reinstallation process.
Step 2
Save your game profile, because without this procedure, the save progress files of the computer game Resident Evil will not work. To do this, open your local drive, go to the AppData / Local / Microsoft / XLive directory and, as in the previous paragraph, create a copy of them on removable media. Remember the location of the files in the current operating system, because if you make even the slightest mistake in specifying the path, saving will not work.
Step 3
After reinstalling the operating system on your computer, install the Resident Evil game. Run it so that it creates the necessary directories on its own, and then close it. Copy the save files and the user's game profile to the folders that appear on the computer. Reboot your computer.
Step 4
Start the game. If you did everything correctly, then it will display all the previous progress and your profile, however there are some ways to check this even before reinstalling the system.
Step 5
Perform a validation check by moving these folders before reinstalling the operating system. Go to the game; if your profile has disappeared, exit it and return the files to their previous location. Start Resident Evil again; if the profile appears in the menu, then you did everything correctly and you can reinstall the operating system without fear of losing game data in the form of a profile and save files.
