Saving the settings of the uTorrent torrent client when reinstalling the Windows operating system is not a problem that requires special computer knowledge and is carried out by the user without the involvement of additional helpers and resources.

Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the Windows operating system and go to the "Run" item to locate the files and settings of the uTorrent torrent client program.
Step 2
Enter the value% AppData% / utorrent in the Open field of the command line tool and press the Enter function key to search. By default, the uTorrent application files and settings are located:
- Windows XP - drive_name: Documents and Settingsuser_nameApplication DatauTorrent;
- Windows Vista and Windows 7 - drive_name: Usersuser_nameappdata
oaminguTorrent.
Step 3
Move the uTorrent folder to a removable disk (CD-RW or DVD - / + RW disk, USB flash drive, external USB disk or other logical drive) before reinstalling the operating system to exclude the possibility of formatting the selected folder.
Step 4
Make sure that the settings.dat file is in the folder together with utorrent.exe to make it easier to use the saved settings of the uTorrent application when starting the restored torrent client.
Step 5
Select the storage location for uploaded and downloaded files, as well as *.torrent files in the "Folders" submenu of the torrent client of the "Settings" menu. Save all downloaded releases (movies, images, archives, etc.).
Step 6
Reinstall the Windows operating system using the method of choice and restart the computer.
Step 7
Install uTorrent and exit the torrent client.
Step 8
Restore uTorrent settings from previously saved removable disk files.
Step 9
Restart the program. All settings and *.torrent files are restored without hashing of downloaded releases.
