Hyperlinks automate work in Microsoft Excel by adding the ability to go in one click to a site, document or work file. It doesn't matter if the user has this document on his computer or if it is a page on the Internet.
What is a hyperlink?
A hyperlink is a link in a document, clicking on which opens a web page, file or folder (depending on what the link points to).
There are several ways to add a hyperlink in Excel:
1. Using worksheet objects such as charts, shapes, WordArt, etc.
2. Using the "Hyperlink" function.
3. Directly into the cell.
Creating a hyperlink
The easiest way to add a hyperlink is directly to a cell. To do this, select the required cell, right-click on it and select "Hyperlink" from the list that appears. A similar action can be done through the menu by clicking "Insert" - "Hyperlink" or "Insert" - "Link" - "Hyperlink" (depending on the version of MSExcel).
You can also bind a hyperlink to any object in your worksheet: pictures, text boxes, charts, shapes, and WordArt. To create such a hyperlink, you must select the desired object, call the context menu and select the "Hyperlink" item. You can also add a hyperlink using the menu bar (just like adding a link to a cell).
There is one caveat - it will not work to set a hyperlink on the diagram in this way. To do this, select the diagram and press the Ctrl + K combination. This keyboard shortcut also works on all other Excel objects.
Another way is to add a link using a function. It is written like this: "= HYPERLINK (address; [name])".
The address field specifies the location of a cell or a range of cells. Here you can also specify the address to a file stored on your computer, or to a web page. In the "name" field, you enter the text that will be displayed in the cell with the hyperlink. The text will be written in blue and underlined.
For example, if you write in a cell the following formula = HYPERLINK (Sheet1! A1; "Amount"), then on the sheet it will look like the usual word "Amount" in the cell. When you click on this word, the hyperlink will place the cursor on cell A1 of sheet 1.
To go to the site, you need to slightly change the formula: = HYPERLINK ("https://abc.ru"; "Go to the site abc.ru"). In this case, the text "Go to the site abc.ru" will be written, clicking on which will open this site in the browser.
To change the hyperlink, you need to right-click on the cell and select the "Change hyperlink" item. Similarly, you can remove a link by selecting "Remove Hyperlink" from the context menu.
