Step 1
Select a codec recruiter and player for various media formats for your computer. These can be programs like K-Lite Codec Pack (https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm), DivX Codec Pack (https://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec- pack), a package of utilities for performing tasks with Nero media files (https://www.nero.com/rus/), and so on. Familiarize yourself with the functionality of each of them and programs similar to them and select the software suitable for your tasks to install on your computer.
Step 2
After downloading the program of your choice, complete the installation by following the instructions of the installer menu item. When the system offers options for the codecs installed on your computer to support certain media file formats, select all possible items if possible.
Step 3
Perform associations of files registered in the system to open them with the program of your choice in one of the installation stages, after which the file of this or that extension will be launched in accordance with your choice. The program will automatically register the codecs in the registry of your operating system, and upon completion of the installation procedure, it will offer to restart your computer.
Step 4
If in the future you want to change the program to open a particular file, make sure that the new program supports playback of files of this extension. After that, right-click on it and select "Open with..".

In the window that appears, click the "Browse" button and specify the path to the exe-file of the required program in the Program Files system directory. If the program you want is in the list.
