Total Commander is a multifunctional file manager for Windows operating systems. With its help, you can perform almost any operation with files, as well as manage FTP-servers. The program supports various plugins, which greatly expands its functionality.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the official website of the Total Commander program. In the left pane of the Contents resource, select the Donwnload link. On the page that appears, click on the Direct Download link and wait until the file is downloaded.
Step 2
Run the downloaded executable file and follow the instructions on the screen. At the first stage, accept the software license agreement. Then select the type of installation and click Install. Wait until the files are unpacked and the installation is complete.
Step 3
Launch Total Commander using the created shortcut on the desktop or through the Start menu. You will see the program window. It is divided into two parts for the convenience of performing move and copy operations. At the top there is a toolbar and buttons for controlling the functions of the application.
Step 4
The program interface works as follows. On the left side of the window, find the file you want to move to another folder, and on the right side, open the target directory. While holding down the left mouse button, move the document to the right, and then confirm the operation. Hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple items.
Step 5
To make the necessary settings, go to the "Tools" or "Configuration" section and use the appropriate menu items to set the parameters that are optimal for you. To connect to the FTP server, use the FTP - Connect to Server menu.
Step 6
To expand the functionality of the program, use the installation of plugins. To do this, download the required extension from the Internet to any folder on your computer, and then open the resulting file in the program window and install. With the help of plugins, you can organize additional support for the files with which the program will work, additional tools (viewing information about files, working with mail, etc.).
