A representative of almost any profession can use a computer as one of the working tools: an artist as a palette and canvas, an architect as a drawing folder and pencils, and a composer as a score and orchestra in one package. Writing notes to a computer occurs through special programs called note editors.
It is necessary
- - special software;
- - knowledge in the field of music theory.
Instructions
Step 1
One of the most popular sheet music editors used by musicians (both performers and composers) is Guitar Pro. As the name suggests, it is designed for recording guitars (six-string, bass, and others). Following the specifics of this group of instruments, he also records all the other parts one octave higher than the sound. This is why he is so popular with bards and rock musicians.
Step 2
Install the program on your computer. Since the program is protected by a patent, you will have to purchase a serial number to activate and fully work with the program.
Step 3
In the control panel select "File" - "Create new". Next, enter the required information, confirm. Indicate the tempo, key and other characteristics of the future score. Please note that even if you are wrong now, you can correct the settings in the future.
Step 4
Start typing notes by selecting durations in the top bar. Don't forget to insert pauses. If necessary, use means of expression: leagues, accents, grace notes, glissandos, etc. Adjust the look. Depending on your convenience, you can represent the part of each instrument on a guitar fretboard, or a piano keyboard.
Step 5
Another popular sheet music editor is Sibelius. Like GP, it requires activation before use, but it has significant advantages over the first. It was created for working on orchestral scores and takes into account the peculiarities of all instruments. Therefore, the guitars in it are written an octave higher than the sound (as expected), and the piano and violins - in sound. In other words, it is easier to record works for large ensembles on it.
Step 6
After installing and registering the program, enter the score information as in the case of the GP. Specify the number of instruments, select timbres for them from the built-in midi-bank. Set the beat if the piece starts with a weak beat.
Step 7
Enter notes by clicking on the respective lengths in the Notepad menu. Please note that the duration can be set immediately in the middle of a measure, the pauses are set automatically.
