The file system is the order that determines how computers and other devices are stored, organized, and assigned names: mobile phones, portable players, PDAs, and so on.
File systems come in many forms. Their main purpose is to determine the format of information in the form of files on various physical storage media - hard drives, removable drives, mobile device memory, and so on. A specific kind of file system can be assigned to each device and memory size. For example, the most common NTFS for users is in computers, the hard disk capacity of which allows formatting in this system. To assign a file system to a memory device, connect it to your computer, right-click on its icon and select "Format". Select the type of file system in the proposed options (it is best to choose NTFS if the amount of memory allows) and click on the start of the operation. File systems differ from each other in many parameters that are invisible at first glance to an ordinary user, but nevertheless, upon closer examination, differences in parameters will be noticeable, for example, in the speed of equipment operation, copying data, reading information, and so on. Formatting a local disk usually occurs during the installation of the operating system, while the user must select the formatting mode - normal or full with the final deletion of all data without further possibility of their recovery with special utilities. During formatting, a user-defined file system is assigned to the disk, which will determine the parameters of work on the computer in the future. Please also note that when partitioning a hard disk into two or more volumes, it is possible to use several different file systems at once, the same applies to removable drives.
