One of the features of the Windows Vista operating system is that the Administrator account is disabled by default. the access of an owner who is a member of the administrator group remains restricted. Changing this state of affairs requires activation of the "Administrator" account.
Instructions
Step 1
Log in to the computer with your usual account and open the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button. Expand the link "Control Panel" and go to the "Administrative Tools" item. Expand Computer Management and select the Local Users and Groups section in the directory on the left side of the window.
Step 2
Expand the "Users" list to the right of the window and open the context menu of the "Administrator" account by right-clicking. Select Properties and uncheck the Disable Account box.
Step 3
Enter the value of your name or nickname in the "Full name" line and confirm your choice by pressing the OK button. Reboot the computer system to apply the changes made. Please note that access to some system folders will only become possible after changing the permissions.
Step 4
Activate the built-in Administrator account, which is not subject to UAC and is disabled by default, using a command line tool. To do this, go back to the main system menu "Start" and enter the value cmd in the text box of the search bar. Confirm the scan by clicking the "Find" button and call the context menu of the found element of the Windows command interpreter by clicking the right mouse button.
Step 5
Specify the Run as administrator command and enter net user administrator / active: yes in the command line test box. Authorize the execution of the selected command by pressing the Enter function key to display the "Administrator" account in the "Welcome" window at logon and the possibility of using it. Please note that this account does not have password protection, which drastically reduces the degree of computer security. Immediate protection with a password of sufficient complexity is recommended.
