The Windows operating system provides a choice of languages. Typically, users use Cyrillic and Latin (Russian and English). If for some reason one of the languages has become unavailable to you, you can return it using the system components.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the Regional and Language Options component. To do this, press the Windows key or the Start button on the taskbar. Select "Control Panel" from the menu. A new window will open. If the "Control Panel" has a classic look, immediately click on the icon "Regional and Language Options". If the "Panel" is presented in the form of categories, open the required component from the category "Date, time, language and regional standards".

Step 2

In the dialog box that appears, go to the "Languages" tab and click on the "More" button in the "Language and text input services" group. An additional window will open. Make the "Options" tab active in it and see what data is contained in the "Installed Services" group. As a rule, there should be at least two languages: English (USA) and Russian.

Step 3

If one of the languages is missing, click on the "Add" button located on the right side of the group. In the new window "Add input language", use the drop-down list to select the value "Russian" (or another language you need) in the "Input language" group. In the second field - "Keyboard layout or input method (IME)" also set the value "Russian". Apply the new settings by clicking OK in the open dialog boxes.

Step 4

To see which language you have selected at a particular time when entering text, bring the language bar to the taskbar. To do this, in the "Languages and text input services" window, click on the "Language bar" button in the "Settings" group on the "Options" tab. In the new window, set a marker in the fields "Display the language bar on the desktop" and "Additional icon on the taskbar". Apply the settings.

Step 5

Right-click on the taskbar. In the context menu, expand the "Toolbars" item. Make sure there is a marker next to the "Language bar" sub-item. If it is not there, just click on this item with the left mouse button to make it active.
