With the development of the Internet, viruses began to annoy users more and more. If earlier they were "harmless" programs, distributed with a specific purpose in a specific network, now this attack, which is everywhere. A rare virus can cause serious damage to the operating system, but spoil its performance and performance, or simply irrevocably spoil some, sometimes very important, files - it's easy. There are a lot of ways to clean your computer from viruses. We will focus on the simplest and most effective solutions to this problem.
It is necessary
- 1-2 computers
- Antivirus software
- Windows disk (Live Cd or original)
Instructions
Step 1
Start with the simplest and most important thing - install an antivirus. It is better to do this immediately after installing the operating system, but if this step has not been taken, then do it now. The choice of antivirus is yours. The basic rule is that during scanning, your computer must be disconnected from any network, especially from the Internet. The easiest way to do this is to unplug all power cords and disable wireless adapters, but you can manually disable each connection as well.
Step 2
Restart your computer and enter Safe Mode (F8 at boot time). Run the preinstalled antivirus and find the item "scan local drives". When setting up the scan, check the boxes for all the items you need. The main ones are actions with infected objects. Select "disinfect automatically" and "quarantine if disinfection fails".
Wait for the scan to complete. This process will take from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the power of your PC and the size of your hard drive. Now reboot and enjoy a clean system.
Step 3
Sometimes the system is so infected that it is not able to cure itself, and sometimes it does not even allow installing an antivirus. In such a situation, you will need another computer.
Remove the infected hard drive from the system unit and connect it to another PC. Now repeat step 2.
Step 4
After disinfecting the system from someone else's PC, you may have severely damaged OS working files. Therefore, for its stable operation, it is best to use one of the many "Live CD" disks that help restore the system to its original appearance. In the case of windows 7, this is the native installation disc. Insert it into the drive and turn on the PC. Select System Restore and select the most recent restore point.
