Instructions
Step 1
Open your browser and type "content filter" in any search engine. Follow the links and select the appropriate software. There are many organizations and companies on the Internet today that offer free software solutions for both home computers and computer networks of organizations, educational institutions, etc. Among them there are Russian and foreign counterparts.
Step 2
Download a trial licensed copy of the content filter to your computer. Run the installer and install the program. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen during the installation process.
Step 3
After installation, connect the content filter to your network. To do this, click "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel". After that, find the "Network Connections" menu. In the window that opens, right-click on the "Local Area Connection" icon, select "Properties" in the submenu.
Step 4
In the Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) window, find the Properties tab. In this tab, you need to disable DNS servers and assign them certain port values through which all Internet traffic will be "listened to" by the installed content filter.
Step 5
After completing the configuration of the software package, restart the computer. It may take a little longer than usual to boot the system the first time. A new icon will appear in the system tray, indicating that the content filter is located in the startup folder, has been successfully loaded with the operating system and is working.
Step 6
After some time (usually no more than 10 days), activate the content filter software package, as its trial version will no longer function by that time. Activation is carried out in different ways - from purchasing an electronic key to purchasing a license.
