A gearbox is a set of gears that are enclosed in one common housing called a crankcase. The presence of the housing will allow you to arrange the parts compactly and protect them from mechanical damage and dirt.
Necessary
- - steel sheet;
- - gears;
- - lining;
- - machine.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the following diagram to make a gearbox. Make a two-piece gearbox housing, for this use a steel sheet with a thickness of 6 to 8 millimeters. All its walls must be rectangular. Weld both sections, connect together with four bolts. Fasten the bearing races with six screws to the wall. The gaskets for the cage must be made of oil-resistant rubber
Step 2
Connect the drive shaft, made from one piece, to the output shaft of the powertrain transmission. Change the gear ratio of the first stage depending on the diameter of the pneumatics. It can be matched by the number of teeth of a pair of cylindrical gears. Place the driven gear on the shaft of the gear wheel of the next stage. Use this shaft for power take-off and drive of the winch, as well as other mechanisms.
Step 3
Make a second gear reducer from three bevel gears. Place the drive gear in engagement with a pair of driven gears to be mounted on a common shaft. Provide its movement with a toothed sleeve, which moves along the splines of the shaft. Mesh the hub with the driven gear or place it neutral between them. Attach the bushing shift lever to the gearbox housing.
Step 4
Provide reverse when assembling the gearbox if the vehicle is not equipped with a reverse gear, since it does not have the required gear. Please note that it must have the same speeds as in straight motion. This gearbox will allow the actuator to be installed in any part of the air duct. Eliminate gaps in the gear engagement with shims. It is better to manufacture a gearbox in a workshop that is equipped with gear-cutting machines and equipment designed to harden rubbing parts.
