If you are trying your hand at working with such a "monster" for processing raster images, as the program "Photoshop", and your creativity requires new horizons, we can recommend you to slightly expand the standard capabilities of the program. You've probably already noticed that in the basic version of Photoshop there are pre-installed sets of textures, brushes, gradients. How to update such a set? Let's try adding new textures or patterns to the program.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing you need to do is download a ready-made set of textures from the Internet (there are a great many of them) or purchase a disc with various sets in the store.
Step 2
Now that you have the texture files that have the "pat" extension available, let's proceed to the actual process of adding. First, copy the textures to the Patterns folder located at C: / Program Files / Adobe / Adobe Photoshop / Presets.
Step 3
The next step is open Photoshop, go to the Edit menu item and select the Preset Manager tab.
Step 4
A new "window" will open. Next in the drop-down menu "type of set" click on Patterns / patterns (textures).
Step 5
Now you have to specify the path to the location of the file with the "pat" extension (the place where you copied it). Click on the set you like and click on the "Load" button.
