Modern laptops support a wide variety of formats and ports for connecting external devices. In particular, modern laptops support image output to other monitors in HDMI format. This means that you can connect your laptop to almost any modern TV and watch movies and any other audio files.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure your computer has HDMI output. To do this, examine the available ports on the side of the device or check the documentation for your laptop. If your device does not have an HDMI port, you can still connect your laptop to the TV. To do this, use the output of the video card of your device and the hole for connecting the computer cable in the TV. These pins are called DVI or VGA.
Step 2
Purchase the correct cable from a specialist retailer. HDMI cables are sold at almost any computer store or hardware supermarket. There you can also purchase a cable for displaying images on a TV through the video output of a video card. If necessary, you can also buy a DVI-HDMI adapter for connecting via an HDMI cable to a TV.
Step 3
Connect the purchased wire to the turned off TV and computer. If necessary, follow the instructions for connecting your TV or laptop. After that, start your device and wait until the operating system finishes loading. Then turn on the TV and wait for the computer to detect the new display.
Step 4
Go to Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Display. Adjust the settings for your laptop and TV in the most convenient way for you, using the options provided and the comments on them on the screen.
Step 5
You can also customize video display and TV settings using your ATI or Nvidia driver management utility. To do this, go to the driver control panel through the "Control Panel" - "Hardware and Sound" or click on the icon of your driver control center in the tray.
Step 6
After making all the settings, switch the display mode of your TV to HDMI using the remote control, if the switching did not happen automatically. After that, you can run any movie on your laptop and watch it on the screen of your device or TV.
