Instructions
Step 1
Use ATITool to analyze Radeon video cards. Download and install this app. Restart your computer and run the installed program.
Step 2
Wait while the utility analyzes your video card. If you need to change the parameters of the RAM or the central processor before testing, then perform this procedure in the main menu of the program. Now click the Show 3D View button. Wait for a new window to appear containing a 3D image.
Step 3
This window will display the current and average FPS values (frames per second). Now monitor the state of the graphic for about 15 minutes. If yellow dots appear on the 3D image during the test, then your video card is unstable. Monitor the CPU temperature readings carefully. Stop the program if the CPU temperature exceeds 58 degrees.
Step 4
If less than six yellow spots appear during the test, then the video card is working normally. To check the video card for artifacts, click the Scan for Artifact button. The Errors counter will be displayed at the bottom of the program's working menu. Wait 15 minutes and look at this indicator. If the number of errors is zero, then the video adapter is working stably.
Step 5
If you need to check the NVidia video card or the graphics accelerator installed on the Intel processor, then use the Riva Tuner utility. Be sure to set the maximum fan speeds before starting the test. Activate the best performance for your video adapter. Run the test and wait for it to complete. The program will automatically generate a report containing information on the number of artifacts found.
