Instructions

Step 1

Open two or three photos of your choice that you want to combine into a collage. Determine which of the photos will become the main background for the work, on which all other objects will already be located. Duplicate the layer with this photo.

Step 2

Now use the Move Tool and drag any other photo onto the main background. Place the layer with this photo under the background layer so that it is between the original background layer and its duplicate.

Step 3

Decide where the subject from the photo should be in the background. Depending on the background image, choose either the Lasso tool or a mask added to the layer. Cut out or erase from the background layer those areas on which the object in another photo should appear.

Step 4

To fit the photo in size, perspective and proportions to the objects in the background photo, click "Free Transform" and edit the shape and size of your photo by holding down "Shift".

Then adjust the color gamut and brightness of the photo to the background color gamut using Levels and Hue / Saturation. Also you can open "Color Balance" and "Curves" to debug the appearance of the image.

Step 5

Do the same for all the photos that you want to place on the background layer. Place them in their places, and when all the objects are neatly cut out and placed in the background, do not forget to adjust the overall appearance of the collage - different objects on it should not differ in brightness and saturation of colors.

Step 6

Apply different layer blending settings to the collage and choose the one that you like the most (for example, Soft Light). Finish up and merge the layers (Merge Visible). The image can then be saved and used.
