The operating system requires personal care: constant cleaning of "garbage", viruses and unnecessary registry entries. But when all possible ways of solving a particular problem have been exhausted, and the need to use a computer is still there, people often turn to service centers for help. How much will it cost to reinstall Windows at one of these centers?
Ways to reinstall Windows
Windows OS, when compared to other OSes, is very easy to install and reinstall: even a beginner who does not have computer skills can handle the process.
The only "special" knowledge is that to start installing Windows in BIOS mode (when the computer boots), you need to have time to click the corresponding key (it is different for all computers, but often either F8, or F10, or F12), after pressing which the disk drive or the USB drive will read the disc or removable media and run Windows Setup.
Taking into account the simplicity of the installation process, the question arises as to whether it is necessary to contact the service center and give your money for the "specialists" to do the 5-minute operation?
The cost of services for reinstalling and configuring Windows
Today, personal computers are literally in every home, and services related to the repair of the machines themselves or the OS, respectively, are very common, since they are very popular due to the fact that many novice users do not have the skills to work with the OS at all, let alone more skills in installing / reinstalling it.
Prices for reinstalling and configuring the system vary depending on the region: in Moscow, such a service costs about 500 to 700 rubles, taking into account the fact that the owner has an installation disk or a "flash drive" with the operating system, and in Omsk an employee's visit to the house within cities with the service of reinstalling the system will cost from 300 rubles.
If the owner of the computer does not have an installation disc (licensed), then the company providing reinstallation services will offer to buy a licensed installation disc with the OS. Thus, the price of the entire service will include the cost of installation (300-700 rubles in Russia) and the cost of the license.
There are two versions of Windows officially available on the market today: 7, 8 and 8.1. Support for Windows XP has stopped a long time ago.
Prices for Windows 7 range from RUB 3100. (Basic Home 32 / 64bit) up to 7600 p. (Professional 32 / 64bit - boxed version).
Prices for Windows 8 and 8.1 are kept between 5,990 rubles. (Home version Windows 8 / 8.1) and 9990 p. (Professional version windows 8 / 8.1)
It is worth noting that today Microsoft actively supports students: on the official website, upgrading to Windows 8 or 8.1 for students of Russian universities will cost 2,190 rubles.
Today, companies that provide services for reinstalling and configuring Windows at home are very popular. Often, such services are not very expensive, and the craftsmen manage to complete all the work in an hour from the moment the application is submitted.
A special case is the reinstallation under warranty in the service center of a store that sold a computer to a person with an OS preinstalled on it. Some companies may offer a free reinstallation, while some will charge an insignificant fee (from 300 to 1000 rubles).
It is worth noting that usually this kind of support is provided only for the first 1-2 years after the purchase of a computer and has a limitation: some stores can reinstall the system for free only a certain number of times.
Of course, given the ease of the installation process and the prevalence of "field" craftsmen who can do their work right at the home of the computer owner, the need to visit a service center is drastically reduced.
