The free paint.net graphics editor is a budget alternative to Adobe Photoshop. Its capabilities are quite enough for processing photos and creating collages.
Instructions
Step 1
Paint.net's interface is very similar to Photoshop's. To activate the "Text" tool, click the "T" icon on the toolbar.
Step 2
On the property bar, specify the type, size and style of the font. On the palette, mark the color you want. If as a result you are not satisfied with the color of the text, click on the desired shade on the palette. Click the More button to expand the color palette.
Step 3
You can change the hue of the letters using the Fill property. Expand the list on the property bar and specify a fill type other than solid. Then on the palette from the "Primary" and "Secondary" list, select "Secondary" and click on the appropriate shade on the palette. The additional color will become the background for the picture from the Fill list.
