During normal use of the computer, the operating system is loaded from the hard disk. As a result of damage or failure, it can come to a state where downloading is not possible. In this case, you need to boot from a CD or other storage media.

Instructions

Step 1

To boot your computer to a disc, you will need to create a bootable CD or DVD. With a recorder, this is not a problem. Download the boot disk image or create one yourself. Use specialized software such as Nero or UltraISO to create and burn images. Do not use the Windows built-in CD Burning software. It is impossible to get a bootable disk with its help. Recording should be done at the lowest possible speed. It is advisable to check the quality of the recording after the end of burning.

Step 2

The resulting disc must be inserted into the drive of the computer, which will boot from the disc. After that, the machine should be rebooted. When you turn on the PC, after passing the built-in tests, it should start booting from the disk. If this does not happen, most likely booting from external media is disabled. Restart your computer again. Go to BIOS. To do this, hold down the DEL, F8 or F2 key on your keyboard. If the download continues as usual, refer to the documentation supplied with your computer. Different keys or combinations of keys may be used to enter BIOS depending on the model.

Step 3

To enable boot from disk, find the "Hard disk boot priority" menu item in the BIOS. Opposite the line "First boot device" should be the value "CDROM". If there is something else there, for example "HDD" or "USB-Flash", set the required value using the "arrow" keys on the computer keyboard. Save changes, exit BIOS. The computer will then reboot from the disk.

Step 4

Using the software previously recorded on the bootable CD, carry out the necessary manipulations to restore the system to work. If you failed to reanimate windows, you need to reinstall it. Before doing this, be sure to save all files and settings in a safe place. During the installation of the operating system, the hard disk of the computer will be formatted.
