Look at your processor manufacturer. If you are going to replace the cooler that comes with the processor, then you need to pay attention to the type and manufacturer of the processor, since not all coolers are suitable for every processor.

The cooler is not attached directly to the processor. There should also be a radiator between them, which can also be purchased separately. Pay attention to the material from which the radiator battery of the cooler you like is made of. A radiator with copper fins (reddish-yellow metal) removes heat from the stone better, but will cost you more. An aluminum radiator (white metal) is cheaper, but has less thermal conductivity. In addition, there are radiators of different shapes: parallel plates or fan plates. Radiators differ greatly in the size of the plates. On the one hand, a large radiator copes with heat dissipation more efficiently, but on the other hand, it is heavier, more massive and creates a tipping moment for the entire processor-radiator-cooler system. This is especially critical when the motherboard is vertically located in the case.

When choosing the fan itself, you need to pay attention to its diameter. The larger the diameter of the cooler, the less noise it makes and more efficiently drives air, but at the same time it is more difficult to fit it into the system unit, taking into account the fact that the processor on the motherboard is usually located close to the protruding RAM cards and the power supply unit.

Of course, the noise level most of all depends on the rotational speed of the cooler blades. If you choose a cooler with a rotation speed of about 1500 rpm, then this will be a good compromise between the noise level and the cooling properties of the fan.
