If you want to change the background color for the future image, you can perform all the actions using the simple and intuitive interface of the program. It should be noted that the color can be changed at any stage of the work with the image.
It is necessary
Computer, Adobe Photoshop
Instructions
Step 1
An element such as its first layer is responsible for the background of the image. By default, the program offers the user three background options: white, transparent, and gray. These parameters can be set at the stage of creating a new project using the appropriate functions of the application ("File" - "New"). How to change the background color when a PSD document is already open in front of you? Everything is quite simple here.
Step 2
First of all, you need to find the layer that would be the main background of your image. This layer is usually located at the very bottom of the form showing the total number of layers. If the background is locked (lock icon opposite the background layer), you need to unlock it to be able to make changes.
Step 3
To unlock a layer, right-click on it. A menu will appear where you can find the "From Background" item. Click on this item. The layer will now be unlocked and available for further adjustments.
Step 4
If you need a transparent background, you can use a tool like the eraser. With it selected, set the cursor to a large diameter and erase the entire contents of the layer (make sure the background layer is selected). If you want to change the color itself, select the "fill" tool. Determine the desired color using the appropriate program features. After the color is selected, fill the background layer. To undo the action (in case of an error), press the key combination "Ctrl + Z".
Step 5
An alternative to filling can be the brush tool. Having selected this tool, set the desired color and diameter of the brush, and then paint over the old background.
