However, it is not enough to hang a surveillance camera, although sometimes even the very presence of a camera stops violators from unlawful actions. From time to time, the signal from the DVR camera must be caught on the computer.

Instructions
Step 1
Connect the surveillance camera to the computer using the method provided by the manufacturer, that is, using the supplied cable. Some video systems are connected using a regular network LAN cable and a switch. The connection method depends on which camera you have. If you have not bought this device yet, then before buying, ask the consultant to tell you which connection method is the most optimal.
Step 2
The operating system will detect the connection of a new device and ask you to install the driver. Do this by inserting a disc from the camera into the drive. Double-click on the installation file to start loading the drivers into the computer's memory. After installation, a shortcut to the program from the surveillance camera will appear on the desktop. Run the program by double clicking on the shortcut. Make the necessary settings in the service section of the program.
Step 3
The program will ask you to specify the folder where the video recordings of the surveillance system will be saved. Do this after checking that there is enough free space on the media. Try to use a separate local drive on your computer for this, as this kind of information is important. In case of various system errors or virus infection, it will be possible to encrypt this disk.
Step 4
You can organize a surveillance system for your own home yourself, using your home computer and a surveillance camera connected to it. In fact, it is not so difficult, but it will protect your home from the invasion of people with mercenary intentions. It is also worth noting that the camera can be hacked over the Internet, so use licensed software to fully protect the system.
