The world of technical devices is unique and diverse: it turns out that instead of a web-camera, you can use an ordinary digital video camera. To do this, the camcorder must be properly connected and configured.
It is necessary
- - personal computer with Internet access;
- - USB cable;
- - video camera.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install special software on your personal computer, for example, SplitCam. Then connect the camcorder to the computer via USB cable.
Step 2
After connecting the camcorder, go to the "Setup Wizard". Please note that the personal computer must be on the same network as the connected video camera. Go through all the steps suggested by the "wizard" to configure this device.
Step 3
After going through all the settings provided, check if the camera is ready for full-fledged operation. It's easy to do: shoot and transfer an image or video over the Internet using the skype application.
Step 4
In addition, FTP alert function can be configured via camcorder. To configure this functionality, you need to go to the "Settings Wizard" and find a specific section. Please note that not all cameras support this option, check if this functionality is available in the connected device or not, and only then grab the settings (otherwise nothing will come of it).
Step 5
The general setup of a video camera is as follows: click the "Setup Wizard" button, then check the box next to the phrase "Motion detection" and click on the "Enable" button. In addition, other settings for this unit may be made depending on the camcorder model.
