Images that are on a computer or on removable media (disks, flash drives) may sometimes not be displayed. Also, when browsing the web, crossed out squares or other symbols appear instead of pictures.
If an error occurs when you try to view an image file using a special program, then the file is damaged. For example, the file may contain "Empty" data arrays. These damages can appear due to malfunctions of storage media (disks, flash drives, hard drives). Also, these problems can arise as a result of the destructive actions of a computer virus or other malicious program. If the files were copied from a USB flash drive, you can try using data recovery programs. "Broken" photo files from the hard drive can no longer be recovered. To understand the causes of these damages and prevent them in the future, be sure to check your computer for viruses and malware. Next, check the performance of the hard drive, test it for the presence of "Bad" sectors. If the images are not displayed in the browser, then you need to check if the display of images is enabled in the program settings. To do this, select the "Service" item, if you have an Internet Explorer browser, then go to the "Internet Options" command, select the "Advanced" tab and make sure that the checkbox next to the "Show pictures" item is checked. In the "Opera" browser, the display control button images is located on the toolbar - with its help you can choose which images to display: all, cached, or not. In Mozilla, you can check this function using the "Tools" - "Options" menu. Go to the "Content" tab and make sure the checkbox next to the "Automatically download images" option is checked. If the function of displaying images is enabled in the browser, then the problem is not with your computer, but with the server on which the image is located, i.e. it is currently not available. Also, problems with displaying images in the browser can occur if the flash player is not installed, to check this, go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Add or Remove Programs". Make sure there is an entry for Adobe Flash Player in the list of installed applications.
