Users of some laptop models may face a situation where pressing familiar keys leads to unexpected results and it becomes difficult to type a regular question mark. Fortunately, there is an explanation for this.

Instructions

Step 1

The fact is that due to the small size of the keyboard, some keys can be used to type several characters at once. For example, the key with the Russian letter "Ж" is responsible for entering three more characters: a colon, a semicolon and a plus sign, and using the key with a question mark in the Latin layout, you can type a period, apostrophe and a slash.

Step 2

In practice, it works as follows. To print a character or letter located in the wrong character or letter, you must change the language layout. This is done by simultaneously pressing the key combination Ctrl + Shift or Alt + Shift.

Step 3

And if you need to enter a character or number (not a letter) that is highlighted on the keyboard in a different color (usually blue), you should press the Fn key and, while holding it, press the key with the desired character or number. Accidentally pressing Fn and Num Lock activates the input of only those characters that are entered with the Fn key. Therefore, if you are unable to type a question mark, try pressing Fn + Num Lock and try again.

Step 4

So, you can put a question mark by pressing Shift and the number 7 key at the same time. This will work if the Russian layout is enabled. To enter the same character in the Latin keyboard layout, press Shift and the key with a comma, which is located between the button with the letter "U" and the right Shift key.
