There are many benefits to using RAID arrays. These technologies not only ensure the safety of data, but also increase the performance of the operating system.

Instructions

Step 1

There are several main ways to partition format zero RAID arrays (mirror). If you are not worried about the safety of your data, then use the quick method. It should be noted that information is saved on disks in about 80% of cases. Usually, hard drives are formatted only if specific programs were used to create the RAID array. Open the Administration menu in the control panel. Go to Computer Management and select Disk Management.

Step 2

Select the second drive in the array, right-click on it and select Disable. A warning will appear stating that all information from the disk will be deleted. Confirm to disconnect the hard drive. Reboot the computer using the remaining disk in the array to boot the system. Disconnect the second hard drive from the RAID array in the same way.

Step 3

If information on hard drives is extremely important to you, then take a different approach. Delete any unnecessary files or copy them to external drives. You need to achieve a state of disks in which they will be clogged with information less than 50% (ideally less than 45%). Divide hard disks into two equal partitions using Partition Manager or Acronis Disk Director. As a result, you should get four local disks of the same size.

Step 4

Recover all data from the RAID array to the created disk partitions. Now you can safely exclude both hard drives from the array. Even if the information in the RAID is lost, it will remain on the created partitions.
