Suppose you want to show a person what a great desktop design you have installed, or explain where to click to make the program work, or send an email with an error code to technical support. In order not to explain all this on the fingers, you can take and send a picture of the desktop. It will immediately become clear to the interlocutor what you want to say or show.
Instructions
Step 1
In the Windows operating system, a snapshot of the desktop can be taken using built-in tools. Using the Print Screen button and Paint.
Step 2
First of all, find the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It is usually located in the top row of buttons, on the right side of the keyboard. The button is labeled "Prt Sc SysRq" if it is a laptop or netbook keyboard, and "Print Screen SysRq" if it is a desktop computer keyboard.
Step 3
Run on your computer what you want to capture in the screenshot. Click "Print Screen". When pressed, no visible changes will occur, the system will not report a successful snapshot. When you click on this button, nothing visible happens. The system simply copies the screenshot to the clipboard and stores it there until you copy or take a photo of something else.
Step 4
After pressing the "Print Screen" key, you need to save the image from the clipboard to the hard disk of your computer. To do this, you can use any graphics editor. The easiest way is to use the standard Paint, which is installed along with the operating system on your computer. Go to the address: "Start" - "Programs" - "Accessories" - "Paint".
Step 5
A graphic editor window will open in front of you. You need to paste an image from the clipboard into it. This can be done by pressing the shortcut keys "Ctrl + V" or in the program menu by clicking "Edit" - "Paste". The screenshot will appear in the working area of the graphical editor.
Step 6
After that, all that remains is to save it to your hard drive. Click "File" - "Save As". Give your picture a name, choose a storage location and click Save. After that, a picture with a screenshot of the desktop will appear where you specified when saving. Optionally, in a graphics editor, you can add a signature to the picture or delete unnecessary parts of the image.
