Installing Windows is a rather lengthy procedure, and in the absence of a CD drive, it is also quite problematic. You can implement your plan, but you will have to put more effort into it.
Most personal computer users install Windows on their computer using a disk. In the event that the user does not have a CD drive, then this procedure becomes a real problem. The same goes for netbook users, as they don't have a disc drive at all. Of course, you can install Windows without a drive, but this process will take longer.
Installing Windows from USB
In the event that the disk drive is broken or missing altogether, then you can install Windows on your computer either using a flash drive or using a hard drive for installation. The first option, as the name suggests, involves using a USB flash drive to install Windows on a computer. To do this, you need to download the WinToFlash program and unpack it to any temporary folder. Then you should run the installer of the program and follow all the instructions.
To create an installation flash drive, you must either use a Windows disk image or have a Windows installation CD. The WinToFlash program itself will ask the user to specify the path to the file from Windows, and then automatically copy all the necessary files to a USB flash drive that can be used to install the operating system. To start the flash drive, you need to change the startup parameters in the BIOS. It is necessary to choose the method of loading HDD, LAN, USB.
Installing using a hard drive
The process of installing Windows using a hard drive is a little more complicated, since you first need to prepare the hard drive itself and copy all the necessary information onto it. In order to install Windows using this method, you need to connect your hard drive to a computer with a working disk drive. Then you can run Hiren's Boot CD, which works with partitions. It is necessary to delete the old partition in the hard disk and create a new one (or several new ones).
Next, you need to log in using the command line, in which you enter the command format c: / q / s. This command will format the hard drive. Then you can start copying the files that install the Windows operating system. In this case, you need to copy all the directories and files that perform the installation. After that, the hard drive is connected to the computer with the missing disk drive, after which the command line is automatically launched. At this line, you need to enter the command c: /i386/winnt.exe, which starts the OS installation process. Then you need to follow all the standard steps for installing the operating system.
