Instructions

Step 1

You need to copy the folder names. This can be done in different ways. If there are not too many folders, copy and paste the name of each folder separately into a text document. To do this, move the cursor to the folder icon, right-click on it and select the "Rename" command from the drop-down menu. Alternatively to this command, you can use the F2 key.

Step 2

The folder name will become editable. Do not enter any printable characters and do not left-click on the folder name. Press the key combination Ctrl and C or right-click on the folder name and select the "Copy" command from the drop-down menu.

Step 3

Open a text editor and paste the folder name from the clipboard using the shortcut keys Ctrl and V. Alternative options: right-click in the document and select the "Paste" command from the drop-down menu or click on the corresponding thumbnail button on the editor toolbar. Repeat the above steps for each folder name.

Step 4

If there are a lot of files, of course, another method is needed. Launch Total Commander and go to the directory that contains the folders you need. In the left part of the application window, select the folders you need using the commands from the "Selection" section on the menu bar. After you select the folders, select the "Tools" item on the menu bar and the command "Copy file names".

Step 5

Go to a text document and paste the folder names you just copied from the clipboard. If necessary, edit the text: remove the slash (forward slash), select a document style, assign sequential numbers to your folders, and so on.

Step 6

Another option: take pictures of folders. Go to the directory with the folders you need and press the PrintScreen key on your keyboard. Start a graphics editor, create a new (empty) document and paste a picture from the clipboard. Any program for capturing an image is also suitable for this case.
