Computer gamers know for certain that almost every game comes with a DirectX installation kit. Almost no game works today without it, so developers have to attach an installation file with this software. DirectX is updated quite often, so in the past, you had to make sure that an exclusively new version of this product was always installed. Today, this need has completely disappeared. This became possible due to the fact that DirectX became part of Windows operating systems, and the versions of this product themselves are regularly updated.
Nuances of DirectX
It should be noted that DirectX is not able to work on absolutely all operating systems. Therefore, in order not to have any problems associated with the fact that a particular product does not start due to the lack of this software, you need to know about it in advance.
The DirectX software itself has several routines in it that make it work. These are: Direct3D, DirectPlay, DirectDraw, DirectSound, DirectInput, DirectSetup. Direct3D, as the name suggests, works with 3D graphics, which are mostly used in games. DirectPlay - allows personal computer users to play their favorite games over the network (which have this capability). DirectDraw - works exclusively with two-dimensional graphics, processes it, and also accelerates the display. DirectSound, as you might guess, works with sound in games and programs. It should be noted that this component has its own access to the sound card installed on the user's computer. DirectInput processes all the data, and DirectSetup directly installs these components, that is, DirectX.
