Active mode is commonly referred to as direct connection or using a firewall with manual port forwarding. The operation of enabling the active mode is performed by standard means of the Windows operating system and does not require the involvement of additional software.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch the installed browser and log into the web interface of the modem you are using. To do this, enter the value 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the browser (for the D-Link modem).
Step 2
Check the Enable UPnP checkbox and click the Apply button to initiate the active mode activation procedure.
Step 3
Use the Save and Reboot option to apply the selected changes and click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Step 4
Go to the "Control Panel" and expand the "Network Neighborhood" node.
Step 5
Select the "Show icons for network UPnP devices" command in the "Network tasks" section and define the used modem in the "Local network" group.
Step 6
Go to the "Settings" menu of the StrongDC ++ program and select the "Connection settings" item.
Step 7
Apply the UPnP Firewall checkbox and restart the application to apply the selected changes.
Step 8
Return to the main Start menu and go to Control Panel to complete the required UPnP service settings procedure.
Step 9
Expand the "Administration" node by double-clicking the mouse and select the "Services" group.
Step 10
Enable Generic PnP Device Host and SSDP Discovery Service and select Auto under Startup Type.
Step 11
Go back to Control Panel and expand Windows Firewall.
Step 12
Go to the General tab and apply the checkbox to the Enable field.
Step 13
Uncheck the "Don't Allow Exceptions" box and go to the "Exceptions" tab.
Step 14
Apply the checkbox to the UPnP infrastructure field and click the OK button to confirm the command.
