Step 1
Download the Transparent Taskbar utility to your computer. Unzip the files and check them for viruses and malicious code. This utility allows you to customize the transparency of the Start menu and the taskbar of the operating system, as well as dialog boxes and programs that run in the background.
Step 2
Install the program by choosing the interface language you understand in the settings. It is better not to download the Russified versions of TransTaskbar if you speak English at least at an intermediate level - the program has an intuitive interface and the main menu elements will be understandable to anyone. Russian versions are often unstable or contain poor quality translation.
Step 3
Familiarize yourself with the main functions of the TransTaskbar menu buttons, go to the transparency menu settings and adjust this parameter using the special sliders. Apply changes. Please note that some versions of the program may contain additional functions, which allows you to adjust the transparency not only for the Start menu and the taskbar, but also fine-tune the external elements of the operating system.
Step 4
If you want to restore the transparency of the Windows Vista or Seven operating system menus, turn on the appearance settings for the best display of Windows items. Open "My Computer", select "Properties" from the context menu and go to the "Advanced" tab.
Step 5
Click on the upper right button, which is responsible for the appearance settings, and in the current tab of the window that opens, select "Provide the best view". This can affect performance as this mode requires a certain amount of resources, but if your computer has a good configuration, you will not notice the difference. Apply the changes and adjust the transparency of the system windows in personalization.
