Sometimes the image on the computer monitor becomes darker and dimmer. When viewing photos, you have to apply a color-correcting filter, and in video players you have to manually increase the brightness of the picture. But rather than constantly changing color settings, it is easier to increase the brightness of your monitor. There are software and hardware for this.
Instructions
Step 1
You can increase the brightness of your monitor by using the picture adjustment buttons on the front of the monitor. In addition to controlling the brightness of the image through the menu and choosing the appropriate parameter, manufacturers usually program quick access to this function. To increase the brightness of the monitor, press the button on the front panel, which shows the sun. It is this generally accepted symbol that usually denotes brightness.
Step 2
If this does not help, and the picture on the monitor is still darker than you want, use the video card image adjustment software. To do this, go through the "Control Panel" in "Display Settings" and click the "Advanced" button. If you have installed video card drivers from the manufacturer or similar to them, then in the new settings window that opens, you will see a tab with the name of the card model. If you do not have one, then install the official drivers, since you cannot increase the brightness of the monitor using standard Windows programs.
Step 3
From the graphics card settings tab, select "Graphics Specifications" or a similar option related to color adjustments. You will see "sliders" with which you can change the brightness and contrast of the image. To do this, simply move them to a new position. As a rule, you can increase the brightness of the monitor immediately.
Step 4
On old CRT monitors, dullness is its first sign of an impending breakdown. Today, there is usually no point in repairing such a monitor as it was done before in the absence of alternatives and with high prices for equipment, since it is much cheaper to buy its analog from hands. And modern "thin" monitors are not very expensive. Therefore, if your old monitor begins to darken, it is better to take a closer look at new models in computer stores.
