When working with photographs and drawings in the graphics editor Photoshop, it is often necessary to make changes to individual layers of the image. Layers can also be combined into groups, which greatly simplifies the editing process.

Instructions

Step 1

Launch Adobe Photoshop and load the graphic file that you want to edit. Open the Layers panel. As a rule, it is located in the lower right corner of the program window by default. If the Layers palette is closed, you can open it by selecting the Layers row in the Window section or by pressing the F7 key on your keyboard.

Step 2

Examine the contents of the palette on the first tab. It should reflect all the layers currently in the graphic document. To select a single layer, you just need to right-click on it.

Step 3

If you need to select several consecutive layers, press and hold the Shift key, and then click on the first and last layers from the group. Several layers standing separately in the palette can be selected by holding down the Ctrl button and clicking the cursor on the desired objects. If an extra layer was mistakenly selected, then click on it again while holding down the Ctrl key to deselect it.

Step 4

If you periodically need to access the same layer group, create a separate folder for them. At the bottom of the Layers panel, there are a series of small icons. Select the items you want and click on the folder icon. A folder with the name "Group 1" will appear in the palette window, when you click on it, all the layers placed in it will be selected.

Step 5

All layers of the image can be selected by clicking on the "All layers" line in the "Selection" menu. If you want to select all layers of the same type, for example, text layers, make one object active and select the line "Similar layers" in the "Selection" menu.

Step 6

To deselect an individual layer, right-click on it by pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard. You can deselect all layers by clicking in the Layers panel outside the object list area. An arc way: go to the "Selection" menu and select the line "Deselect layers".
