In the process of editing an image in the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop, sometimes it is necessary to perform some manipulations simultaneously with two or even with a whole group of layers. Unfortunately, not all operations can be applied to a group, but for example positioning, transforming, applying styles work well. To take advantage of this opportunity and reduce the time for the same procedures with many layers, you need to make several active at the same time.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the graphics editor and load the required document into it.
Step 2
Open the Layers panel if it is not in the workspace of the Adobe Photoshop window. This can be done by selecting the "Layers" item in the "Window" section of the graphical editor menu or by pressing the f7 key in the row of keyboard function buttons.
Step 3
Select the first of the layers you want to select in the panel. If the layers you need follow directly one after another on this panel, then hold down the shift key and, without releasing it, click the last layer in the sequence. Please note that you should not click on the layer thumbnail, it is better to click on the title or an empty space.
Step 4
If the desired layers are not sequentially placed in the panel, but in random order, then, having selected the first of them, press the ctrl key (in MacOS - command) and click all the layers you are interested in while holding this key down. If an extra layer was mistakenly selected, then click it again while holding down the ctrl key.
Step 5
Open the "Selection" section in the menu of the graphical editor and select the "All layers" item if you want to make all the "layers" active. The keyboard shortcut alt="Image" + ctrl + a is assigned to this command, which can also be used.
Step 6
Choose Similar Layers under Selection if you only want to select layers of the same type that you clicked first in the Layers panel. For example, if this layer contains text, then all text layers in this document will become active as a result.
Step 7
If all the layers you want are contained in one folder, just click on that folder to select them. In the case when from time to time you have to re-select the same layers and carry out some operations with them, it is more convenient to create a new folder and move them all there.
