Sometimes it becomes necessary to connect several computers to a network. The reasons for this need vary. For example, you need to overwrite files, or you just need to create a connection between computers.

Step 1
First you need to make sure that the drivers for network cards are installed on the computers. To do this, go to the "Start" menu, right-click on "My Computer", and go to the "Properties" section.

Now open the "Equipment" tab.

Go to the "Device Manager" section.

If you see question marks displayed in the list, then not all components are installed. In this case, insert the driver disc and click "Update device drivers". After installing the drivers, a shortcut “Local Area Connection” will appear in the “Network Connections” section.

Now you need to install the crossover cable. Having connected the cable, right-click on the "Local Area Connection" shortcut. In the menu that opens, select the "Properties" section. On the "General" tab, select "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" -> "Properties".

Next, check "Use the following IP address". And we register the IP address on the first computer: 192.168.0.1. After that, the subnet mask should be determined by itself.
Step 7
We register the IP address: 192.168.0.2 on the second computer, save the changes. The network setup is complete.
