Step 1
Open the required photo in Adobe Photoshop: click the menu item "File"> "Open", in the new window specify the path to the file and click "Open". Click Image> Image Size or press Alt + Ctrl + I. A new window will open, remember the values that are in the Width and Height fields. Further, based on the statement of the problem, you can act in different ways. If you just need to turn the photo, read 2-4 points of the instructions, and if you turn one of the fragments of a horizontal photo into a vertical one, then from 5 to 7.

Create a new document (Ctrl + N) and in the "Width" field specify the value of the document height, the dimensions of which you memorized in the previous step of the instruction, and in the "Height" field, specify the width value.

Select the Move tool and drag the image from the original photo onto the newly created document. Activate a new document and make sure you have the layer with the moved image selected.
Step 4
Press the key combination Ctrl + T. Transparent square markers will appear on the sides of the picture, move the cursor a little further away from one of them, so that it takes the shape of an arched arrow. Hold down the left button and drag the mouse so that the picture takes an even vertical position. Use the Move tool to straighten the image.

Create a new document and, specifying the "Height" parameter, enter the width value that you memorized in the first step of the instruction. In the Width box, enter a value that is about 2 or 3 times smaller than what you specified in Height. In other words, you should have a portrait frame.

Activate the original picture, select the Zoom Tool (hot key Z) and, holding down the left mouse button on the picture, move it a little to the left. To the extent that the edges of the image are visible. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool (hotkey M, switch between adjacent elements Shift + M) and use it to select the area of the image from which you want to make a vertical photo.
