Step 1
Format the media to NTFS file system. You can find out which one you have, as well as make the conversion in the operating system section "Disk Management", "Computer Management". The file system type will be indicated under the drive letter. Open the media in My Computer and find the autorun.inf file on it. It is a system one, so it is necessary that the appropriate parameters be set in the display of folders and files by “My Computer”.
Step 2
Edit the list of users who have permission to access the file. Right-click on it and select "Properties" and then "Security". Click the "Edit" button below the list and delete all items except your account. If your account is missing, add it. Show yourself a complete list of permissions.

Make yourself the owner of the file. To do this, click on the "Advanced" button, before selecting your account in the list of users. Remove all entries from the Audit menu, uncheck the box below. Add the Everyone user and adjust the permissions and restrictions for him. Leave only the necessary rights - view, read, execute files.

A ban on changing the autorun.inf file will prevent viruses from automatically launching from a USB flash drive and performing their malicious functions. However, this does not mean that now you do not need antivirus and there is no need to scan the media. Don't neglect safety issues. It is also worth noting that for the complete safety of information, you need to back up important data. Store them on a removable medium or an encrypted local drive on your personal computer.
